Weekly Update: May 18, 2021

**Update May 18th, 2021**

I hope you had a nice weekend. We are looking forward to the warmer temperatures this week.

As you may be aware, the CDC and the Governor of Virginia have recently issued changes to its guidance for face mask usage and physical distancing for individuals who have been vaccinated; however, this guidance does not apply to healthcare settings including nursing centers. While patients and visitors who have been fully vaccinated may choose to not wear a mask and be within 6 feet of one another when visiting privately, we are required to enforce mask-wearing and physical distancing by everyone while in the Center in shared spaces and hallways. These measures continue to protect patients and staff members who are unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine due to medical reasons or have not yet been fully vaccinated.

County Positivity Rate:  Decreased to 2.2%.
Testing Frequency for Staff and Patients: Staff and patients are tested every 3-7 days during the outbreak until the Center is 14 days without a positive test result.
PPE: The supply remains adequate. Staff receive ongoing education on appropriate PPE utilization.
Visitation: Virtual, outdoor and indoor visitation are currently available. Indoor visitation for patients located on the Chesapeake Unit is temporarily suspended while the Center is in an outbreak. Click this link to schedule a visit: https://dulles-rehab.com/patient-visitations.

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
