It’s almost National Skilled Nursing Care Week (formerly Nursing Home Week)! The theme this year is “Celebrating Life’s Stories” and will be May 13-19th. Dulles Health and Rehab Center has planned the following NSNCW events:
Sunday: Mother’s Day Lunch at Noon
Menu: Honey Glazed Ham, Green Bean Casserole, Mac & Cheese, Sweet Potato Pie
*we will be passing out roses to all the women/mother’s that day as well
Monday:
Favorite Things Craft collage at 2:00 PM
Tuesday: World Heritage Day (Dress up like a country of your heritage!)
Taste of the World at 2:00 PM
Cultural food event! Let us know if you want to participate
*we are encouraging all departments to participate… pick a country and represent it at your table, food tasting included. Let Recreational Therapy know if you’re participating, so we have an idea of how many tables to include.
Wednesday: Elvis Day (Dress up like Elvis or your favorite Elvis movie!)
Nashville Standard performs an Elvis set at 10:30 AM
Elvis Double Bingo at 2:00 PM
Thursday:
1:30 to 3:30 Celebration in the Courtyard with Petting Zoo and Live Music
*we are bringing back the ice cream cart too!
Baby picture game
*Bring in your baby picture by Wednesday if you would like to participate.
Friday: Decade Day
Dress up like your favorite decade!
2:30 Fashion Show through the Decades
Saturday:
Popcorn Stand and Bingo
Various games and refreshments will occur throughout the week. On theme days, we encourage everyone to be festive and dress up. We will be doing the resident spotlight daily and a baby picture game Thursday with the staff and residents. You are all invited to participate in any and all of the events!
