86 Recoveries from COVID-19 at
Dulles Health & Rehab Center
Herndon, VA (May 23, 2020) – Dulles Health & Rehab Center, a skilled nursing center that has been battling a significant COVID-19 outbreak, today announced that 66 residents and 20 members of staff have now fully recovered from COVID-19. There are no active cases remaining in the facility.
Since the March 13, 2020 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) memorandum directing all nursing homes to significantly restrict visitors and nonessential personnel, Dulles Health & Rehab has remained closed to visitors and has required appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the facility.
“While we are still mourning our losses, we are thrilled to see this dramatic turn-around. The heroic efforts of our staff have provided for high quality care and unprecedented levels of family communication during the last few weeks. We are extremely proud of everyone’s hard work and dedication in unbelievably difficult circumstances,” spokeswoman Jennifer Eddy said. “While, without a vaccine for COVID-19, we cannot yet put this pandemic completely behind us, this latest milestone is great indication that there will be better times ahead. While we wait, we will remain diligent in applying everything we’ve learned through this experience to provide the best possible care and outcomes for our residents.”
Dulles Health & Rehab would also like to thank the families and community who showed tremendous and continuous support with handmade cards, signs, snack donations, and offers to provide extra PPE and other general well wishes.
“These kind gestures were deeply meaningful and uplifting for both our staff and our residents. We are all very grateful,” Eddy said.
