The journey to Dulles is getting closer and closer. The builders have made great progress on the building. They are currently working on the internal “punch” list and final touches. That being said, we will need to get the certificate of occupancy that is required for us to live in the building. We are hoping to be able to give you a date that is at the end of March if all goes well.
Each person will be transported by bus or ambulance as medically appropriate. On the day of the move residents will be assigned to a bus with a time. They will be welcomed at our beautiful new center and checked in. After check-in, we will have volunteers to escort each resident to their room with a tour along the way. Once settled in their new space, residents will be able to join us in the community room/dining room for activities and refreshments.
Meal times for the day of the move will stay the same. All residents will eat a farewell breakfast here at Commonwealth. Lunch and dinner will be provided at the center you are at the respective meal time. That means if you are at Dulles at noon, your lunch will be served there etc… Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the date.
